About DutyCheck
A UK business owner realises they might need a fire risk assessment, or has just taken on their first employee. Government pages confirm the duty exists but not how often it falls due or what it costs. Everything else in the search results is a provider selling to them. This site exists to answer the question honestly, and then get out of the way.
The rule that governs everything here
We publish information. We never advise. We do not tell you what to do about your circumstances, we do not carry out assessments, and we do not act for you. What we do is state what the law requires, who it binds, how often, what it typically costs, and which accreditations separate a competent provider from the rest.
How the facts on this site are kept honest
- Every fee, frequency and legal claim carries a dated source link.
- Provider fees are re-checked quarterly and the date shown is the date we last looked.
- Where the law declines to give an interval, we say so rather than inventing one.
- We disclose the referral fee on every page, not in a footer.
