馃敶 Almost certainly more per item than the headline rate, because a small business pays the minimum charge rather than the per-item price. PAT testing is advertised at somewhere between 拢1 and 拢3 an item, but every provider sets a minimum. One Hertfordshire firm publishes 拢89 for up to 30 items; one London firm publishes 拢119 for up to 20 in the north of the city and 拢129 for the rest. An office with fifteen things to test pays the minimum either way, which works out at 拢5.93 an item in Hertfordshire and 拢7.93 in London. Both figures exclude VAT. Ask for the minimum charge first: it is the number that decides what you pay, and it is the one least likely to be on the front of the website.
